About Carmel Residents Association

Striving to protect the residential character of our village for more than 30 years.

Our Mission

The Carmel Residents Association is committed to the protection and enrichment of the traditional quality of life in Carmel-by-the-Sea and the preservation of its heritage and natural beauty through education, community activities and advocacy.

About Us

The Carmel Residents Association (CRA) is a civic, cultural and social non-profit.

Our main objectives are:

To voice and support…

…CRA members’ interests and concerns with all government branches of the city. Information about these interests and concerns is gleaned in a variety of ways: comprehensive surveys of our members; hosted forums for our members and the public; addressing members’ e-mails, telephone calls and letters.

To support the community…

…of Carmel-by-the-Sea through philanthropic endeavors which  include sponsoring a scholarship for a graduating Carmel High School senior who plans to attend vocational school locally, supporting music in the Carmel Unified School District, a yearly donation to CHS’s Sober Grad Night, and a one-time donation of $26,000 to Harrison Memorial Library.

To offer members…

…the opportunity to participate in CRA-sponsored events as volunteers. These events include the monthly CRA Lovers of Carmel Beach clean-up, preparing food and staffing the July 4th CRA fresh fruit booth at the city’s annual Independence Day celebration in Devendorf Park, joining the mailing party that gathers every other month to  stamp, address and tab copies of our newsletter, The Voice, for mailing to all CRA members.

To provide opportunities…

…throughout the year for members to come together socially at fun events that include an annual outdoor cookout at Indian Village in Pebble Beach, a holiday party in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, several CRA Dines Out! events at local restaurants, and a public celebration in the village of The Citizen of the Year every year that the award is given out.
