Please join us on Wednesday, October 16th, 5:30 p.m. for a wonderful dinner at the iconic Village Corner Bistro. Our host, Ken Spilfogel, has crafted a spectacular menu and we so hope you can join us for this special evening.
The night will begin with hors d’oeuvres to include local cheese, crackers and fruit, crispy artichokes and short rib sliders. You have a choice between Caesar salad or tomato bisque and your entree choices are shellfish risotto, Pacific seafood pasta (eastern clams and scallops, crab, shrimp, tomato, garlic-wine sauce), wood-fired roasted salmon served with risotto and vegetables, or prime New York steak served with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. A special dessert bar with the chef’s selection will follow.
The Village Corner is located on the NE corner of Dolores and 6th. Our cost for this amazing evening of culinary delight is $45.00 per person. Wine and beer at $7.00 per glass, well drinks at $10.00.
We expect this to be a very popular event so please reserve early by sending your check made out to CRA and include your choice of soup or salad and your entree selection. Mail your check to Sue Taylor, 225 Crossroads Blvd. #168, Carmel CA 93923. Reservations must be received by October 7th.
Here’s an opportunity for CRA members to meet the CRA Board of Directors, new and current, where the membership can interact with CRA leaders, ask questions, learn of our ongoing programs and of our advocacy for sustaining the special, historic character of the Village of Carmel-by-the-Sea.Read More
CRA Dines Out!
April 9th at 5:30 pm
By popular demand, the CRA is happy to announce that our Holiday Gala event will be at La Playa Hotel, Saturday, December 1st. Your CRA Board and the hotel staff are working to make this an enchanting evening with friends, food and spirits!
Dear CRA friends,
The location of our Dines Out! has been changed. The Village Corner chef has moved to the old Lafayette Bakery location, just a few doors north of The Village Corner on Dolores. Soerke Peter’s new restaurant is a French American Bistro called Etats-Unis. The menu remains the same, nothing has changed except the location.
See you at our sold-out dinner October 17 at Estat-Unis.
If you weren’t able to attend the CRA’s January 25 panel discussion on water policy, or just want to double-check something, a video of this event, The Shape of Water on the Monterey Peninsula, has been posted to YouTube and is now below.
The video runs a little over an hour and has some eye-opening moments.
UPDATED: Members of the Carmel Residents Association and members of the public are invited to an admission-free evening of discussion and debate about water policy on the Monterey Peninsula, starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, January 25. NOTE: We have a new venue. It is:
Long-time CRA members will remember the splendid holiday dinners we used to have at this grand dame of Carmel hotels. Memories of Erl Lagerholm come to mind. This was his favorite CRA event and we hold this dinner in his loving memory.
