Celebrating 36 Years of Community Service

Get ready, get set.....so much to do, so little time!

Please Join CRA in the Carmel-by-the-Sea - 107th Birthday & Halloween Parade!

No mere mortal can resist the fun of Halloween in Carmel!  We hope the same applies to our Membership!  Our City Activities Team hosts this great annual celebration and experience for our Village and everyone!  Join your CRA Board as we gather with fellow members to enjoy the fun and this great Village tradition.

We gather inside Devendorf Park, Tuesday, October 31st between 3:30 to 4:00 - with the parade beginnig at 4:15.  We march up and down the Avenue handing candy to the kids sitting along the sidewalks of Ocean Avenue.  All you need is a costume and a smile.  CRA provides the banner and candy.

The City's Halloween event page is HERE.  After the parade, there will be Trick-or-Treating fun for kids in Devendorf Park and downtown!   


Until - Friday November 10th you can cast your vote in the Carmel Chamber 2023 Awards of Excellence in multiple categories. This is your chance to support and recognize local businesses and organizations (including CRA) that have truly excelled in 2023.  Vote Here

On Tuesday November 7th, 4:30 - City Council - Staff will present a report on current findings on consideration of standard Addresses in Carmel. Yes, for Carmel-by-the-Sea. Before - Monday November 13th - at Noon please complete the City's Tree Survey HEREYour input will be a part of the Urban Forest Management Plan revision efforts underway that will include a roadmap for our forest for the next 40 years.  Plus for those interested in learning more about our Village in the Forest's trees, please visit this CRA web page. This contains good history (plus new Monterey Pines article), and much more. 

On Monday November 13th - late afternoon - Special Housing Ad Hoc Meeting in Council Chambers to review feedback received from Sacramento's HCD on the draft of our Housing Element with RHNA requirements.  Check out the City Meetings page * for details about 5 days prior to this date. On Tuesday November 14th, 4:30 - 6:00 PM - Please join fellow CRA Members where we will gather for a No-Host at Flaherty's - between San Carlos and Dolores on 6th.  Find more information and photos from past No Host Gatherings HERE.

 

On Wednesday November 15th - late afternoon - the City is Hosting a Special Planning Committee Workshop in City Chambers to learn more about the new draft ADU Ordinance. In case you missed it....
Carmel meets Sacramento - A Coastal Community Town Hall on California State Housing Legislation - October 23rd.

Thank you to those who joined us last Monday Oct 23rd where we heard directly from the legislators who vote in Sacramento on laws critical to our future throughout the Coastal Monterey Peninsula.

On Saturday November 18th 9:00 to 3:00 is the annual Homecrafters Marketplace in the North Lot of Sunset Center. Many other surrounding locations and organizations about town will also have great gifts, foods, and crafts for your holiday shopping extravaganza.  More details will be available soon on this City's event page

On Sunday November 19th 10:00 to 4:00 in the Barnyard's Community Shared Space #H-23, a Charity Bazaar is being held with 100% of the proceeds going to Casa de Noche Buena - a Shelter for Homeless Women and Families with Children.  Such a great cause!

On Friday December 1st (usually 3PM ish to 6PM) Carmel's Holiday Celebration on Ocean Avenue in front of Devendorf Park - with amazing local performances, singing, dancing, Santa, Elves, plus lighting of the Menorah and Holiday Tree.  More details will be available soon on this City's event page. Indeed, anothr great Village Tradition!

Reception: Mix and mingle with fellow members during the Cocktail Hour begins at 5:30 pm on the Pacific Terrace where red and white wines are included in your registration throughout the reception and dinner. Well drinks will also be available at the cash bar on the Terrace. 

Dining:  Our dinner will begin at 6:30 pm in the Pacific Room with a special and colorful holiday salad – A Sweet Gem & Roasted Beet Salad, radicchio, frisee, popcorn shoots & goat cheese. 

Followed by your Main Dish Choice: 
   1. Lobster Ravioli with velvet corn soup, roasted mushrooms & fine herb salad 
   2.  Roasted Rosemary Chicken, served with rustic whipped potatoes and seasonal vegetables
   3. Caprese Ravioli in a fire roasted tomato sauce (vegetarian)

Concluding with your Desert Choice and Coffee:
   A. Lemon Meringue Tart with Raspberry Coulis
   B. Chocolate Hazelnut Torte with Salted Caramel
