Celebrating 34 Years of Community Service

Yes, it's Tuesday 2/22/22...happy Twoes-day!  (with smiles or goans as it fits).

  Remaining Dates in February:

  • CRA is next at Carmel’s Weekly Farmers Market – this Thursday Feb 24th 10am-2pm, please stop by!
  • Carmel Special Joint Council & Planning Commission Meeting - next Monday Feb 28th at 3pm.  The online meeting details & topics will be posted on the City meetings webpage.  This joint session is to revise and expand our relevant Telecom Municipal Codes - working to address the concerns of the ongoing Verizon cell tower requests inside residential areas.

  Important March Dates:

  • Carmel Regular City CouncilTuesday Mar 1st 4:30pm.  Meeting details & topics will be posted on the City meetings webpage. Current plan is to offer participation via a mix of in person at City Hall and online attendance options.   At least one expected important topic is the requested approval of the agreement of Winters and Company to  advise and guide the needed updates to our commercial and residential design guidelines and municipal code.
  • Strategic Planning Priorities Session - Thursday March 10th 4-7pm in Carpenter Hall, where the City Council and your input will determine the most critical projects and incremental spending in the months to come.  Check on City meetings webpage for the latest.  Your participation live and in-person is best.  The most recent public version of the priority list is available here.     City_Council_Priorities_Tracker_AsOfEndOfYear2021.pdf

In case you missed it, our Library Foundation Session on Feb 16th was Architect M.J. Murphy, Carmel’s First and Foremost Builder with Architectural Historian, by Kent Seavey.   View this recording HERE.  With so much work underway now to refine the architecture guidelines of our Village, it is especially important to take a moment or two to look back.
