Tuesday February 28th 5:30-7:30 PM Carmel City SPECIAL Housing Element Workshop in Council Chambers - Visit our Housing topic page for relevant updates, independent resources, document links and more.  Your participation and input is critical for the future of expanded housing in our Village.

Architecture in Carmel - Design Traditions Project - now with 1st DRAFTs of the Design Guidelines out for review & feedback steps.  Click the Architecture link for details on next steps, public reviews and document links.  Your comments are critical to the future of new building projects in our Village.

5th&Dolores (aka Ulrika Plaza) - Review of their project is targeted for Planning Commission March 8th. Plans are submitted for review with document links shown on this page.

Address in Carmel Project, what's next?  The Carmel Post Master is planned to speak at the March 7th City Council.

Wednesday March 1st  - SPECIAL Planning Commission Session in Council Chambers - for comments on new draft Telecom/Wireless Ordinance (drafts to be posted this week). Your input is critical to minimize visual clutter and proliferation of cell towers in the Residential Neighborhoods in our Village.

Wednesday Feb 22nd 6:30 PM - Join us when CRA Hosts, the authors of "Humbled, How Monterey Bay Escaped Industrial Ruin" by Glenn Church & Katheryn McKenzie. This program celebrates the power of noteworthy local environmental activists. Open to the Public - details here.

Thursday Jan 26 CRA proudly Hosted "Experience the Monterey Bay as Seen by early California Artists".  This great program celebrates our area's natural beauty through renowned local painters, presented by locals professor Cynthia Weick and artist/gallery owner Joaquin Turner. City Strategic Priority Planning Workshop

This Jan 31st workshop was the first annual session for City Council and City Department leaders to hear directly from us and us from them – on how to prioritize, optimize and balance the City resources of people, time, and dollars to the needs throughout our Village.

San Carlos Street Median Islands Workshop    Thumbs Down and...

This Jan 26th Community Workshop was held on proposed San Carlos Medians & Bike Route - Slides presented are HERE.  There was strong community attendance (30+) and opinions too.  Nearly, if not, all residents gave a resounding "thumbs down" on all of the median options reviewed.  Also, attendees were not supporters of the "Bike Route" marking and signage.  These findings will circle back to appropriate Council and Commissions.

Some of the topics included approval of the following:
1. acceptance of the Housing Feasibility Report (drafted by consultant ECONorthwest),in preparation for updated Housing Element.
2. approval of the Consulting engagement for the drafting of the Housing Element with EMC Planning
3. approval of the Consulting engagement for our Traffic and Parking Management project (B.Uhler's Municipal Resource Group)
4. go-head with a new RFP for architectural firms expert in Police Department design
5. updates to Municipal Codes prohibiting timeshare and fractional interests uses, advertising and sale.
